Having Internet Etiquette

Spreading Awareness: Our Individual Involvement and How it Helps.

When online it’s good to treat people with the same etiquette that you would want to be treated with in your physical life. People have a tendency to forget that there are real people behind the screen and say and do things without thinking. People see the comments that are made and respond to it in the same way as you would normally, to our brains there is no difference between virtual or online life and physical life so it reacts the same in both situations. As i’ve said before most people act as if there is no consequence to online actions, while untrue, if people pretend there are no consequences it allows their concious to remain clear while they injure other people’s feelings. They hide behind a screenname and act in anyway that they want. If your objective is to make friends, grow a business, or to be a decent person then internet ettiquette is important. The rule of thumb is always think about what your about to write or say and ask yourself would you like other individuals to say that to you. if the answer is no then don’t say it. This is showing internet courtesy, or just regular courtesy there is no reason to be mean online or in physical life and to fill people’s pages with negative comments. if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything. Again as i’ve said before it is kind and important to share and like people’s posts. This shows that you support them and helps spread the information. If you like it then someone else will as well. This helps the person creating the material feel motivated and expands the reputation of the individual which also increases their motivation to create new and better material. It is kind to help people you would want the same if it were on the other hand, and remember nobody is “too good” to share someone else’s posts. It is only a click and it is very helpful and repectful. If you appreciate someone’s work share it so other people see it as well, something that helped you or brought you joy, can do the same for other people. It will also help the individual creating the material to expand. This is just kind. Everyone needs to make a living and why wouldn’t you want a business (that you respect) to get bigger so they can show others how to do better. Many people feel as if they wouldn’t make a difference but every additional help, no matter how little you think it may be, helps. We put in effort to create material and we appreciate it when you share something you like it means a lot to us.

I want to talk about the individual involvement that every one of us can have in spreading awareness about important topics, not petty topics such as people’s personal business. Everyone has the capability to do something about spreading awareness even if they don’t realize it. If spreading awareness is something that you can support there are ways that you can help. One way to help is to spread information on whatever topic may be of importance. The more people that are aware of an issue the more people that will be working on it. Sharing posts or retweeting allows whoever sees the post the ability to see where the info is coming from and check that person out. This helps in a couple ways; firstly someone new sees the info, secondly it gives credit to the person who went through the effort to put the information out there, thirdly it allows a person who is interested in the topic more access to where the information is coming from, allows them to further research and gives them more and upcoming information. Also it’s just plain nice to share and retweet. People go through a lot of effort to provide material and it’s nice to show that you appreciate it, support, or at least respect what someone is doing. Remember it’s OK to show support, and it’s nice to help someone. You would want the same if it were on the other hand. If you support someone or something, show it. Everyone has to make a living and take care of their daily life and hassles as well. Supporting by sharing, retweeting, or hash-tagging about the material they have provided. This will allow someone who is providing the material that interests you a way to take care of their lives, provide more material, and spread awareness about important topics.

Thoughts On Community

Most people seem to have forgotten what a community is so im going to tell you. A community is a group of people living in the same area or a sense of being apart of something due to shared interests/attitudes or goals. In every place that i have visited or lived community is one of those things that seem to be forgotten. I notice it’s not because people don’t want a community its that society has taught us to be afraid of others because they might cause some kind of harm or do something bad. Now some people will indeed do negative things but on the majority people want a sense of comradarie and to know that they are safe. Community is important to us all and we should be kind and look out for each other. If we were all nicer to each other and showed respect the community would start to get better because it is a kinder place to be. It is also important for the community to look out for each other. We are suppossed to make sure to the best of our capabilities that others in the area are safe and we should especially make sure that the kids are safe and educated they are our future. Having a strong community means a better living environment for everyone. Problems within a community don’t have to be handled by violence. We can talk to each other and as long as each party is reasonable, the problem can be handled. As a community we should share information with each other. If nobody knows whats happening in the community then there is no way to fix it. If you see a problem please have it appropriately handled or if you don’t know how to appropriately handle the situation find someone who does and ask for their advice. We are here to help and protect each other and that’s what we should do. I hope to help improve the community while i’m here. Remember within reason i’m here to help so if your completely lost i’m here and i’m just a click away.
